My sister asked me to blog about window treatments. She said she needs to cover the windows in her living room and was thinking about getting plantation shutters. I haven't had a chance to talk to her about what she needs from a functional standpoint - meaning, does she need light control or privacy or both, or is she just looking for something to 'finish off' the windows - to make them less bare and the room more complete ... more decorated. The answers to those questions should determine the direction she goes, but in the meantime, I told her to hold off on the shutters until I could show her a few ideas.
