Because I spend so much of my time organizing my clients (as well as designing their interiors) I see firsthand the importance of having adequate storage. Whether it is books, clothing, toys, papers, or even dishes, if there is not enough space for them, they will overflow into areas that they should not be.
Sometimes the solution to the lack of storage is to add a closet or built-in cabinetry, but often that is not possible. And when it is not, the more you can use furniture that is multi-functional the better off you will be.
One of the easiest ways to add storage to any room is by bringing in a dresser.
Dressers can be used in any room of the house and used for a multitude of things including linens, flatware, DVDs and CDs, papers, art supplies ... the list is endless.
What is keeping you from getting organized?
What's keeping me from getting organized? I have two words to answer that. One is a four letter word. Time.
ReplyDeleteAnd the other would be (((drum roll please))) ME!
You are so right...dressers and chests are the best for storage. When we moved back into our house after construction I kind of just tossed everything into dressers and storage of any kind...right after the holidays I am taking it all out and putting it back in like photo #4...so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring. It feels so much more peaceful to have a place for things. I'm going to tackle something this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI really lke the versatility of dressers too and the fact that you can buy old dressers at inexpensive prices and DIY them to fabulousness. :-) I'm a huge fan of that Tobi Fairley image (of course). Thank you for your very kind comment about the Christmas Tree! Hope you're having a good week.
ReplyDeleteI love all these photos. This is my new years resolution: Get organized like you!
