I had quite a few things on my list to get accomplished or at least started today. I still hadn't done my Christmas Thank You cards (I know .... soooo late!) and I have some new projects I am doing that I needed to start developing. One of the projects is a bathroom remodel. But while I was researching ideas I got a little sidetracked.

I saw this photo and I really loved it (you know me and white!). And it gave me an idea.
We are really big on Thank You cards in my family. I have instilled in my daughters the importance of writing a nice note. Even when they were too young to write they would have to participate in the process of sending a note after they received a gift. They hated it when they were little but now that they are grown they write the most beautiful Thank You notes. One of them made these super cute cards this year:
She drew everything she received from all her friends and family and sent these out to everyone that gave her a gift. So cute. So creative. So unique.
I wanted to do something creative too but I really didn't have the time to develop anything. But when I saw that image I thought I could at least make a cute tag with it. It was easy and fast and I had everything I needed to make it (cardstock, paper cutter, hole punch and ribbon). I dragged the image into my document, reduced it down, added my sentiment and printed it on to cardstock. I punched a hole, added the ribbon and wrote a personal note on the back. It all took about an hour.
It's nice to have one thing checked off the list!
Looks like your daughter is as creative as her mother! Such a cute idea. Your cards are so pretty too - wish I would have gotten you a present so I could have one. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good week!
writing anything and mailing... interesting concept these days, I will think of you and do some writing and mailing of my own.... so nice to get something other than bills in the mail....
ReplyDeleteI too think you are both really creative with your cards, well done ! Regards, Carol Ann
I sat my daughter down at a very young age and struggled through thank yous as well. Today, at 23, she writes lovely and thoughtful notes to each person she received a gift from. No email, no evites etc....a personally handwritten note. Your daughters reminded me so much of her. It is nice to see, as a parent, that we have done something right that lets hope they pass on to their daughters someday.
ReplyDeleteI am totally impressed!!! I think this is such an important lesson for younger ones to learn and you have made it important!!! I personally love to receive a handwritten note from someon. The thought and time it takes is such a gift.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for becoming a follower on my blog, So nice to see your beautiful face on my sidebar, Kathysue
How lovely!! I'm big on the thank you cards, too, but mine usually aren't quite so creative! I did have my four year old twins draw pictures for all of their thank yous this year. It was less than enthusiastically received by Twin B, but we got it done!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Looks like you did a good job with your daughters! I'm trying to instill the same thing in my kids, and I hope it will bear fruit later. xxoo
ReplyDeleteMy 11 year old was soooo late with his Christmas Thank you notes...I know partly my fault....so I used your idea here and made little tag thank you notes using a b/w photo from last summer all stars. Since they were for Grandmas and aunts...they loved them and I think they saved us! Thanks!!
