A previous client of mine retired a couple of years ago and relocated in Northern California. They bought a beautiful home but as most homes it needed a little work. It is a nice sized home and they have made it comfortable for their grown children and their families to be able to come and stay with their own spaces. When they first moved their intent was to find someone up there to help them decorate the new house but they were new in town and it was hard to find someone that completely understood what they wanted. After working with them over the years on their previous house there was a comfort and trust that we had that was hard to replace and so they asked if I could help up there too. I started working through emails and phone calls and then while they were visiting family down here in Southern California we shopped and ordered furniture. Last year, I took a trip up to them to install the first of the furniture that was ordered, select paint colors and carpet, find a dining room table and start accessorizing. Now it is time to start the second phase.
During my first visit we concentrated on the living room and the upstairs bedrooms that are used for the adult children and their families. There is an adult bedroom, a bathroom and a children's room. This visit we are working on window treatments, area rugs, some upholstery changes and other small details like art & accessories.
What I am working on this week! |
I am excited to be here in person getting some of the things done that just cannot be accomplished without being in the space. Because it is a fairly small town, the shopping is limited and we have to travel a couple of hours to get to any large stores which does complicate things but I am always up for the challenge. And it is a nice visit with some long time clients that have turned into really good friends. How nice is that!
Hello, Sweetie!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you. It's so great to see your work. I'm a big fan of it! I am in love with the blue hues in that living room. It's pretty, fun and stylish! These people are so lucky to have you there! :-)
