A few steps forward... a few steps back, and a nice long weekend

After getting so much accomplished in the last couple of weeks trying to finish up a lot of the projects I have been working on all summer, the progress is now moving slower.  The beautiful dining table for the Harbour House is in, but there are some adjustments that need to be made with the electrical and some paint touch-ups so the chairs are still being stored.

But the barstools are in ...

I really like the way they turned out and I love the bit of metal on the weathered wood legs:

They are made by Lee Industries and are very comfortable; I chose them because they have arms and swivel and the fabric is an easy to clean outdoor fabric. In fact, everything in this house was done with comfort and the outdoors in mind. The dining chairs (which I hope to show you soon) can be taken outside and even hosed off if they want. The fabrics on the window seat, the dining chair cushions and the barstool fabrics are all outdoor fabrics.

I spent the weekend relaxing at home and taking care of some things around my own house that have been neglected while I was focusing on everyone else's homes. It was great to have a chance to catch up on paperwork, and cleaning up my office.

Besides cleaning out my files, I added the stag print to my office wall (purchased here) and hung the LOVE poster from Jen @ Made by Girl. The best thing is that my "to-do" box is empty!

I also added this new chair and ottoman from HomeGoods. I like having a chair for someone to sit and talk to me when I am working in the kitchen and this one is such a pretty one I couldn't resist it!

I also found this fabric and am thinking they would make great slipcovers, drapes or at the very least some fun dinner napkins.

It's nice to have a chance to clean and re-arrange a few things in my own house. But the fun is over ... time to get back to work! Happy Monday Tuesday!

  4. Your house is so beautiful. Everything is so stylish, Sherri.

Your office is a dream. I so wish I had an office like yours and an organized house too! I guess I'll have to wait the kids to be a little bigger for that! ;-)
