Today I am guest blogging over at Marianne's Haven & Home blog with her 'Love The One You're With' series. Marianne is a darling and very talented designer and blogger and she just had her first baby.
I am honored to be participating in this fun series and thrilled to be helping her out while she enjoys her adorable newborn son (I can relate!). You can find me here sharing a room in my house that I love.
More babies! You're so lucky!

Hi Sherri...I found you from Haven and Home and I just HAVE to know more about your white sofa. I have had one and tried to conform as well with leather sofa's that I HATE. Could you tell me the make of your sofa and about your slipcovers? I washed mine and bleached it and they shrunk so I gave up and gave my best friend the sofa (on loan) and now I want it back:) Thanks for your post! My daughters were both cows with the same costume as Adeline:)
ReplyDeleteSo excited to go check it out!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen - Here is the scoop on my white sofa:
ReplyDeleteI bought it at Crate and Barrel. The fabric is a cotton duck and the way that I have washed all my slipcovers is that I pre-clean any obvious spots with either a shout stick or for really bad stains I use a combination of laundry soap, borax and a tiny bit of bleach. I make a paste and then toothbrush it on. Then I just throw them in the machine in cold water. I dry them for about 20 minutes and then hang them. The wrinkles come out on their own. I have had several white sofas with slipcovers over the years and have never had any shrinkage. Crate and Barrel does keep their sofa slipcover patterns forever so if you ever need a new one (or just want a new one in another fabric) they will make it for you (not cheap though). I have also purchased sofas from Sofa You Love (not sure if they are in your area or not) and they have wonderful slipcovers as well. The sofa in my living room has only been washed a few times but the one from Sofa You Love I honestly washed that slipcover probably 50 times before I sold it to a friend. I hope this helps! xo Sherri
Your room/house is beautiful...it must be wonderful to welcome a grandchild into the same house where your children grew up...there is something very special about that!
