The symbol of the cross can mean different things to different people. For me it is a symbol of love. It is a reminder of the pure and sacrificial love of Christ and a reminder for me to try to love people the way that Jesus loved.
I saw the cross last week on Marianne's blog. I thought it was a lovely way to offer a little help for a great cause.
"Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." - Philippians 2:4
Happy Sunday, Sherri! Funny, an ICU nurse (my father in law is there) was very prominently wearing a cross the other day, and he is the gentlest, strongest, most sincere soul of a man. His middle age, long brown hair is pulled back in a ponytail, and his beard a bit gruff. As he was talking to my mother in law in the kindest of ways, teaching her what she needed to know, I couldn't help but think of Christ as teacher, and I found myself staring at his cross. It is so reassuring to see a cross, wherever one finds it.
